Registration has opened for the paid Summer Internship Program in Bay, Gulf, and Franklin counties. Youth and young adults under the age of 24 may be eligible if they are graduating with a High School diploma or if they are completing a degree/certification program at Gulf Coast State College or Haney Technical College.

This rate was 0.1 percentage point higher than the region’s year ago rate of 3.3 percent. The region’s December 2021 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than the state rate of 3.2 percent. The labor force was 97,402, up 6,194 (+6.8 percent) over the year. There were 3,292 unemployed residents in the region.

The region’s November 2021 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.6 percent. The labor force was 97,132, up 5,680 (+6.2 percent) over the year. There were 3,258 unemployed residents in the region.
