CareerSource Gulf Coast, in conjunction with the State of Florida Department of Economic Opportunity, provides Rapid Response services to workers impacted by mass layoffs and plant closings.

Receiving the unexpected news of a layoff can be an emotional and stressful experience. CareerSource Gulf Coast is here to help with Rapid Response services. These services are designed to minimize the impact to workers and help them quickly re-enter the workforce or provide training opportunities to establish a new career path. The Rapid Response program also supports the employer to help minimize disruptions associated with job losses to the affected workers and community.

Applying for Reemployment Assistance


To apply for Reemployment Assistance, also known as unemployment compensation, there are a series of steps to follow before and after your layoff date. Additionally, you will need to gather required documents and information. Allow plenty of uninterrupted time for each step.

  • Fully funded job training for in-demand careers in this region, which includes tuition, books, uniforms, and other supportive services
