All CareerSource Gulf Coast offices in Bay, Gulf and Franklin Counties will have a delayed opening at 10 am on Wednesday, March 23, due to severe weather.
The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Gulf Coast region (Bay, Franklin, and Gulf Counties) was 3.4 percent in December 2021, holding steady with the 3.4 percent in November of 2021. This rate was 0.1 percentage point higher than the region’s year ago rate of 3.3 percent. The region’s December 2021 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than the state rate of 3.2 percent. The labor force was 97,402, up 6,194 (+6.8 percent) over the year. There were 3,292 unemployed residents in the region.

The region’s November 2021 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.6 percent. The labor force was 97,132, up 5,680 (+6.2 percent) over the year. There were 3,258 unemployed residents in the region.
CareerSource Gulf Coast announced its’ offices will close for the holiday December 23 until December 31.

Organizations from across the community pulled together to help our area’s homeless veterans. On Friday, November 5, CareerSource Gulf Coast led the effort, hosting the 14th Annual Homeless Veterans Stand Down.
The Board of CareerSource Gulf Coast gathered to mark 25 years of service by the local organization at its annual luncheon, with more than 50 attendees, including Board members, key service providers, program participants, and workforce staff throughout the region.
