The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Gulf Coast region (Bay, Franklin, and Gulf Counties) was 3.4 percent in December 2021, holding steady with the 3.4 percent in November of 2021. This rate was 0.1 percentage point higher than the region’s year ago rate of 3.3 percent. The region’s December 2021 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage points higher than the state rate of 3.2 percent. The labor force was 97,402, up 6,194 (+6.8 percent) over the year. There were 3,292 unemployed residents in the region.

Unemployment Rate for Gulf Coast Region Continues to Drop as Workforce Grows

The unemployment rate in the CareerSource Gulf Coast region (Bay, Franklin, and Gulf Counties) was 3.4 percent in November 2021. The region’s November 2021 unemployment rate was 0.2 percentage point lower than the state rate of 3.6 percent. The labor force was 97,132, up 5,680 (+6.2 percent) over the year. There were 3,258 unemployed residents in the region.
