CareerSource Gulf Coast has joined with FSU Panama City and Gulf Coast State College to host the inaugural Career and Internship Fair on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 from 4-7 pm at the FSU Panama City Holley Academic Center.
Previously, CareerSource Gulf Coast hosted the annual Career Expo and FSU Panama City, in partnership with Gulf Coast State College, hosted the Fast to the Future internship fair. This year, the three organizations have come together in partnership to host the Career & Internship Fair.
At the Career & Internship Fair, area jobseekers and post-secondary students will have a central meeting spot to connect with employers and apply for local career and internship opportunities.
“FSU Panama City and Gulf Coast State College are very excited to partner with the team at CareerSource Gulf Coast on this important career-related event for our community,” said Jim Allen, Director of Student Success & Registrar Services at FSU Panama City. “We welcome the opportunity to help facilitate connections between employers, area job seekers, and FSU and GCSC students.”
“We already work closely with our education institutions in Bay County,” said Kim Bodine, Executive Director of CareerSource Gulf Coast. “It only made sense for us to combine our resources to create an exceptional event for our area job seekers. Whether a job seeker is looking for an internship/educational experience, or a new career opportunity, we are confident this event will meet each unique employment need.”
As an added service, C&CO Productions will be onsite during the event to provide free professional headshots to event attendees. It is estimated nearly 70 percent of employers check social media profiles of job candidates, making it important that individuals present themselves professionally on these platforms. The offering of free professional headshots will ensure event participants have the resources they need to put their “best face forward” on social media.
Employer registration begins on January 13, 2020. There is no charge for employers to participate, but employers need to have jobs and/or internship opportunities available. This event is for employers recruiting for career and internship positions, not those with seasonal and/or temporary or part-time positions.
