Workforce Training Services

CareerSource Gulf Coast offers resources and training opportunities that can help you jump start your career.

Through our network of approved training providers, you may be eligible to complete training in an in-demand occupation that could lead to a vocational certificate/diploma, or even a degree. The list of in-demand occupations are referred to as the Targeted Occupations List and is subject to change based on labor market changes. In today’s job market, it is critical that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to meet the needs of employers in order to compete.

Through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program, you may receive career guidance and possibly financial assistance to help with your occupational skills training. Tuition, as well as training-related costs, such as books, training supplies, uniforms/shoes required, and certification/licensure fees required after completion of training may be covered.

Job seekers interested in training assistance must:
  • Meet eligibility requirements for the WIOA program. Eligibility is assessed individually and is based upon household income and employment status.
  • Participate in training that is on CareerSource Gulf Coast’s list of Approved Training Providers, including Gulf Coast State College and Haney Technical Center.
  • Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) when enrolling in programs that are eligible for federal financial aid.
  • Meet admission requirements of the training provider and be accepted into the training program of interest.

Complete our Training Center Pre-Application here. This will help us determine if you are eligible for training assistance through CareerSource Gulf Coast.
