The Florida Department of Corrections will be hosting a Hiring Event to fill Correctional Officer positions on Wednesday, January 15, from 9 a.m. - 11 a.m. at the CareerSource Gulf Coast Job Center located at 625 Highway 231 in Panama City.

Correctional Officers are needed at the Northwest Florida Reception Center in Chipley.

Starting salary is $22 / hour and sign-on bonus.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Be at least 18 years of age.
Be a citizen of the United States notwithstanding any laws of the State to the contrary.
Be a high school graduate or its “equivalent”.
Be able to pass a background investigation and not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement.
Be able to pass a medical examination.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must not have dishonorable characterization of military service.
