Florida Department of Corrections -- Hiring Correctional Officers

The Florida Department of Corrections will be hosting a Hiring Event to fill Correctional Officer positions on Tuesday, September 3 and September 17, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the CareerSource Gulf Coast Job Center located at 625 Highway 231 in Panama City. 

Correctional Officers are needed at the Gulf Correctional Institution in Wewahitchka.
 
Starting salary is $22 / hour

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be a citizen of the United States notwithstanding any laws of the State to the contrary.
  • Be a high school graduate or its “equivalent”.
  • Be able to pass a background investigation and not have been convicted of any felony or of a misdemeanor involving perjury or a false statement.
  • Be able to pass a medical examination.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must not have dishonorable characterization of military service.
